Recently purchased a refurbished laptop which doesn't come with the oparqating system
it has a cd and floppy drive
i have the win98se CD
how do i install the operating system

If there is no OS at all on the system, you will need a Windows Boot disk that provides CD-ROM support. You can make this yourself by creating (or having someone else create) a bootable floppy disk, and editing the AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files to proved CD-ROM support for the type of CD-ROM drive you are using. Some computers come with such a disk that provides support for all major CD-ROM types. Ask around and see if you can borrow one. Once you have this, boot from it, put the Windows CD in the drive and then type D: and then Setup
