It is in fact, my daughter who is trying to access her files in her 'network space'. The network is at a University, she connects from her room onto the network. But, cannot access files that she has done, at a network terminal, and then saved in her alloted space (30MB). It would also be helpful if anybody has any ideas how she can get files from her computer in her room, from the network terminals. We are in the UK, using win98se. Not sure what they are using on the network. Any advice Please...Pete

my advise would be to call the sys admin, and see what she has to do. the university would be able to help there. if she's at home, and has the proper access rights she can. but, if she doesn't have the rights from that computer, shared, that is, she needs to be added to the permissions for that computer. that's what i think you're asking.

it's possible to ftp or telnet, if they allow it, with something like ws_ftp even. but still a password and id are needed there, so the first thing still, i would do is call the university and get instructions.
