I have attempted to download some freeware onto my desktop (PC clone; AMD Athlon 1.4; oodles of RAM) but it tries to save the files as RealPlayer applications and hence, will not open them or progress to the installation. Any clues as to how to get my applications to install properly? Any idea why RealPlayer seems to be the default application for trying to open downloaded applications? Thanks!! |

Tony, Real player would have to be the most invasive and hard to get rid of app I have ever come across. Unless you need it for real files I would suggest you uninstall it. It has a habit of "taking over" everything and is a real pain. Once it is out of the equation windows will provide the correct app to deal with your download. Rob |
