If it's from Dell, it may only work on that particular Dell, Is it marked WinMe or is it a Dell recovery CD? |

Its marked "operating system reinstallation cd WMe." Its gets to where its starts to load windows then stops, a message comes up" This version of windows Me cannot be installed on your computer please obtain correct version from your computer manufacture" MESSAGE SU0173 |

Better site - with a possible solution - http://www.homestead.com/brendrek/ Post back and tell me how you did. Be warned - it taks a lot of space. |

Aah, the old work around that bios signature trick and yes it takes a huge amount of space to load that way. Sometimes over 3 gig of HDD memory depending on the package it delivers. |

The only trouble with this trick is you have to have an O.S. that can use longfile names already installed, It will work from DOS but you have to know how to get around from a DOS command prompt. |
