I am trying to reciver my activation code for an out of business software installation. I can no longer contact them for lost registration numbers. I assume that these codes are stored in the registry somewhere but I do not know where. Can any one help?

depends, it may or may not be there. go to regedit and do a search for the name of the company and/or the program. it'll at least cross reference hopefully to the entries.

it depends on the product but a good place to start is in the regestry under hkey_local_machine/software then find the product or product company and keep going till hopefully find what your looking for
