I seem to be having a problem with Juno Platinum and XP Pro. When I log onto the Juno Platinum Via DUN everything is fine, good connection, great speed the whole works. When I log off the ISP to do something else and later decide to log back on Juno Platinum I get a RAS error code 628 stating the server was not able to complete the connection. I tried logging out of XP and logging back in same result. The only cure is a reboot and then I am fine until I log off Juno and try logging back in. The funny thing is I can send and receive email no problem. What I have tried so far is:
Talked to Juno Tech support (might as well talk to my dog)They gave me a list of help files to pick from none of which pertained to XP at all.
Uninstalled and reinstalled Juno
Uninstalled and reinstalled Dial UP Networking protocals
also tried a dozen different numbers to dial thinking it was a local problem
always the same result.
Does this sound like a Juno problem or an XP problem?

Greetings, E.S. !
Can you set up DUN to dial the access number without using the Juno software? My Mindspring software did a similar thing to me. I could log on once. After signing off, if I tried to log on again, I would either get an error message stating that the server was not able to complete the connection; or else it would tell me that I was already connected (which I wasn't - browser trying to work offline), or worst case - system lock.

After configuring DUN with the access number and password, I could log on with no problem, and the mysterious behavior never returned - unless I used the ISP software.

Not much of a fix, but it beats a reinstallation (which I eventually did and cured the problem).

Juno support sounds like Mindspring support - good luck finding any !!

Funny you should mention that, I just tried using the Wizard to setup Juno web and got the username and password not recognized on the domain error and of course after a reboot as it would dialup and hang at the first attempt after creating it. I think its time to do some serious ISP shopping if I plan on keeping XP as an O.S.

Here's an update to the XP Juno Platinum problem...as it turns out Roxio EZCD Platinum 5.02 was causing problems with DUN. Why a cd burning software would interfere with DUN is beyond me, I think I'll stick with Nero as it seems to be a better product anyway.
