I am not sure what part of my computer this has to do with so I will just let you guys decide that. When trying to install the game Black and White on my grandmother's computer a message popped up saying that the file C:\windows\system\imagehlp.DLL was missing. So I ended up installing it by going to run and typing in setup.exe, etc. Now when I go to play the game, by going to the start menu, programs....etc, a couple messages pop up. One says that the imagehlp.dll file is missing(from before) and the other message says that the file (or one of it's components) C:\program files\lionhead studios ltd\Black & White\runblack.exe is missing. When I try to run it by going to my computer and double clicking on my cd-rom drive, which is D:, one message says that the file runblack is missing like before, and the other says that the D: drive is not ready. I am not sure if I should update my cd-rom or something, but here is some info on my grandmother's computer: Gateway computer Windows 98 Matshita(stands for Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd; or Matsushita-Kotobuki Electronics Industries Ltd.; or just long for Panasonic.) DVD-ROM SR-8583 drive Generic IDE Disk Type47 Intell Pentium 2 If anyone knows how to fix this or where (and if) I can find an update, thanks! |

i'd uninstall the program completely first. then try to re-install it. if the message pops up that those files can't be found, it could be that they weren't registered correctly upon installation. to register the dll's you type in the run box: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSGSRV32.EXE (space) (then the path of the file, assuming it's in the correct place. EG: c:\windows\system\imagehlp.dll) that will register it with the OS (operating system). it's possible that the install program is at fault. it's been known to happen. |

oh, i forgot to add. if the runblack.exe is not there, then i would see if you can find it on the cd, and copy it over to that particular folder. it should work then, however, if you have more problems, i'd take it back, and get an exchange. or contact the maker of the game, tell them they have a bad cd. they should provide you with a new one. if not, get your money back. |
