I'm running Windows ME (Much Eadache)
In windows\temp there are some files which have an attribute "a", i remove the attribute with a
program called "eluent tools" (great program)
and delete these files ----- only to find they are there again after reboot! How can i stop this happening, they seem to have no application allied to them.

are you sure they have no program "allied" to them? for instance, i have ghost enterprise. it sets up on boot and reboot, a temp file that is in use while the machine is running and cannot be deleted while it is. it could be win98me doing a check of some kind as well. you don't mention what the file names are, that would help.
