I have quite a few older strategy games made by companies like SSI and SSG. These games are dos based but worked well with win3.1. Since I have loaded Win98 the will load but will not play. On one of my pc"s it tells me I have no mouse yet you must use a mouse to install the game. I have a pc with a lot of memory and other bells and whistles but upon trying to run the game, my keyboard will not function. Is there a way that I can still play these older games, I have quite a few dollars tied up in them and would hate to dump theme in the trash. Thanks for any help you folks can give.

it's possible you need to create a boot disk for the dos programs to run and load only the bare essentials to run the dos games. some companies tell you how either in help, or on the web site.

I have created several boot disks using instructions in the manuals and others using instructions contained in the software. I have tried E-mails and calls to SSI, SSG, Microsoft but have had no responses. This has been ongoing since June 01. I do have a 30gig harddrive in one of systems which is partitioned into 4 separate sections with 7.? gig in each section. Can I install win3.1 on an unused section and the game or games, without creating any problems? I appreciate your quick response and help. Thanks a bunch. Rich Plymale

can you post the configs of your boot disks? it should work. i had a dos game in which i had to do this also, and it worked perfectly under win 98.

also, what game(s) is/are it/they?
