Ok, I seem to be having a problem with Norton Anti Virus 2002 and Internet Explorer 6.0. I try to enable Auto-Protect in NAV and I get the following Internet Explorer script error:

Line:887
Char:5
Error:Unspecified Error
Code:0
URL:res://C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1\NAVUI.dll/navstats.htm

I tried using support on the Symantec site, but nothing helped.

So how do I go about fixing this script error? I can't enable auto protect or install new virus definitions because of this error. I'm running windows XP Pro. Thank you very much for any help anyone can give me!

for symantec 2002:
go to your manage (manage the computer) section, where you can change your settings. services, is what you are looking for. look up the service for symantc's auto protect. right click, and then left click, "restart service". that'll shut it down, and restart it again, should be up and running. none of their fixes have worked with me, on a win 2k machine. i messed around with it, and it may be related to the multiple user. i have 3 users setup, but installed it as admin, when i switch to user, it fails to start. this is the only way i can get it to work. once it starts in one of the user modes a few times, it remembers, and keeps going, but then i switch, it fails. symantec's got to fix this.
