Windows XP updates installed a new icon called MODEM ON HOLD.
What is this for ?
How can I configure it, remove it, etc ?
Please if possible to send answer to email ?
because I can not very often access this site

looks like a call waiting feature. something like when you get a call and have to put someone on hold, you can play music, or messages while they wait. but still use the pc. i don't see much on this in MS's database. but the theory is still the same for it. you have to see if you want to run it or not. if you need it first. otherwise it's just another icon, that you won't use. you may be able to uninstall it, but not sure. look into add/remove programs and see if there is an uninstall entry for it.
