I am trying to install Win98se (This is after re-formatting the hard drive)on an old Compaq 4108.Everything goes OK until you get to the final screen with 11 minutes to go(the one where it says it is setting up your hardware and finalizing settings.)Then it just comes to a standstill. Any idea's?? |

Try going into cmos and disabling serial port 2. Some motherboards seem to have a problem with installing an operating system with com2 enabled. |

I cannot find The My Documents file on C drive. I also have an error message when I am transfering files from the internet that say Windows Cannot Find 1explore.exe. |

is this a networked pc? business or personal? i hope you mean IExplorer.exe, not 1Explorer.exe. with the 2nd one, i would almost say you had a virus. My Documents Folder, not file, should be located in the root directory. as in C:\My Documents. if it isn't there, it's been deleted, or, if installed using policies, you won't be able to see it. only the admin will, for a reason. |
