I'm trying to help someone format & reinstall Windows xp. I had them print the instructions on this site and follow them, but after the format is complete, and they enter d:setup, it says CDR101: not ready reading drive - abort, retry, & fail. They've tried retry over and over again, but still the same error message. They're booting with a boot disk they made on the machine. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Make sure you know what letter has been assigned to the cd-rom, or you can boot from the win xp disk. Go into cmos and change the bootup sequence from the floppy to the cd-rom.
