Does it go on into windows if so, then go to RUN on the start menu and type MSCONFIG click okay. At the top of the new page click on STARTUP. Look for the entry DW.EXE, uncheck it and click on ok. Reboot computer as requested.

Cecil, thank you again. Can you tell me why "Download Manager" shows up in MSCONFIG if I have not added any new software or downloaded any new programs lately ?

Can't tell you what program that installed it, but I can tell you it's not needed. The only things needed to be running in the msconfig is scanregistry. taskmonitor, systemtray, and loadpowerprofile. the only other items that you may want to be running are programs that you have installed, such as virus protection, cd burner etc...
By the way You're Welcome
