I heard that if you convert the video file to a certain file format that you could burn it on a regular cd burner and have it be playable on a dvd player. Is it true? If so how would i go about in doing that?

Most new Home DVD players have MPEG support so you would need a program that converts the DVD disk files to VOB files and then inturn compress the data to MPEG. But you didn't hear it from me. You should search the internet for stuff like this, there is alot of it out there.
