I'm not sure how it got there, but somehow the i-lookup.com search bar got itself installed on my toolbar, TWICE. I've looked around at some sites about how to get rid of it, because when I open IE, instead of my homepage popping up, some dirty site does. None of the sites I've looked at has been very helpful, since they ask me to find files I don't even have, or renaming them which has never worked! What can I do other than reformatting the hardrive?? Help!

click start>run>type MSCONFIG>click startup tab and uncheck any references to i-lookup and or any other unknown services one at a time and reboot to see which one makes the bugger behave.

Better yet just list them here and we can tell you which ones can be turned off safely.

Manual Removal: Open the 'Downloaded Program Files' folder in the Windows folder. Right-click the 'I-Lookup.com Toolbar' object (Ineb variant), or the 'GlobalWebSearch.com' object (Gws variant). Click 'Remove'.

Next, open a DOS command prompt window (Start->Programs->Accessories) and enter the following commands.

For the Ineb variant:

cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u Ineb.dll

for Gws:

cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u GWS.dll

For Chgrgs:

cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u Chgrgs.dll

Use Internet Options | Programs | Reset Web Settings to get the normal search sidebar back, reset your homepage, and delete the extra bookmarks added to the Favorites menu. Use regedit to delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ineb.

Kill these running processes with Task Manager:
