ok i dont know what spcs i should post here so ill do what I can, please tell me what info you need other that what I give.

windows 98se, version 4.10.2222A
pentium 4 1500mhz on a
Intel D850GB motherboard.
Soundblaster audiology,
Kyro 2 4500 64MB video card, newest driver version.

It seems that when I play some older 3d games like Drakan:order of the flame, and Deus Ex, they will run fine for a long time, i mean several sessions of maybe a couple hours each, then after i get far into the game they will freeze up on me, and i will be able ot move the mouse around the screen. but I cant ctr/alt/del my way out, only way is to Hard reboot.
This happened in Deus Ex after playing it for several weeks, but Drakan only after a couple days. I havent seen the problem much in a couple other games I have purchased and played. The wheel of time is one of them, GTA 2 works fine, but those 2 mentioned earlier do not.

I dont know if its related but lately some of the media I have been watching like trailers for movies will stop and I have to skip ahead a couple minutes to get it running again. just thought I woul throw those out there.

Both Drakan and Deus Ex were patched. un-installed and reinstalled then repatched and the problem persisted.

any ideas?
I am looking to buy a new Video card very soon amd was wondering if i should solve this problem before then.

Although your system should run pretty cool I would suspect either the cpu or video card is overheating.

Maybe check for dust bunnies or if your old video card is the culprit your considered upgrade should fix it.

Could also try updating drivers on video & sound + direct X upgrade if applicable.

Also could look for some game patches.
