My problem is this. I Have a small home peer to peer network to learn from for my Job. My host system is a Windows 2000 system. I just set up a windows 98Se box connected through a linksys router for common connection to the internet. I believed I had all the security issues. i.e., passwords confiqured properly for my new 98 box but I get the perverbeale dialog box " Enter Network Password" ( you must supply a password to make this connection ) Keep in mind that I can see both ways. i.e., by that I mean, from my host Windows 2k system I can see the new '98 box and from the new '98 box I can see the Win2K host system and all the other systems. I just can't log on the primary host Windows 2k sys.
I even tried to set it up so no password would be required by other systems tring to log on. But to no avail.
Thanks for your time. I will do what I can to return the favor on this board.

I forgot to mention that my version of Windows 2K is the pro version not the server version.

OK folks do I feel like a doe-doe bird or what.
This is the message that says, I figured it out.
Did I know that Win98se has an Administrator account? No. Did I know that once logged on as a Win98se administrator you need to set up individual users like my main one that I have been trying to use to login to my win2k sys.
The bottom line is: once I logged into my win98 system as Administrator I could log into the host box (my win2k sys.) From here I am setting up a specific user on my win98se box with the necessary privileges to do what I need. Hope this helps someone as much as it has helped me.
Feel free to add any words of wisdom to this self discovery forum I rambled through. As you might guess I am about 80% self taught. I need more network time before I give up my day job.
