The BIOS says the CPU rate is correctly set to Pentium 400, but the initial boot screen..the one that shows stuff like the memory test and where you'd hit DEL to enter the BIOS says the cpu is only a pent200 (and it's running like one too) Winxp and any diagnostic tools within windows also say the computer is a pentium 200. It's not coming up with any errors just running at half the speed. Changing the settings in the BIOS makes no difference. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

The initial boot screen is run by BIOS. Did you install the new CPU, yourself? If so, did you do any configuring of it?

Try this, right click 'My Computer' and go to the hardware tab. Go in device manager. (in alphabetical order) look for processor. Hit the + and right click the processor and go to scan for new hardware changes. If this doesn't work, try updating the drivers, which can be found in the same place.
