when i go to shut down windows 98 throught the start bar or even control+alt+del.....the computer immediately goes to restart without skipping a beat. i deleted some programs, and i also unchecked some programs from running when the computer goes through the start up, by using "msconfig". this is when things started going wrong. which brings up another point, i am also having a problem with the computer starting up...it goes right to the boot menu where i have to choose "normal boot" every time. i am wondering to myself if these two factors are related in some way. i can push the power button to power down, but when i restart the computer the next day, it does a scandisk at startup...any comments?
