Hello,

I have winxp w/sp1 installed and it's hanging during boot prior to the login screen.

I am trying to install an addonics IDE Digidrive (flash card reader) and a Plextor CDRW drive on IDE 2. I have a 200GB drive on IDE 1. ASUS A7N8X Dlx MB.

I have tried every combination of CS, Master, Slave...

When I boot and check the bios both drives register, cdrw as pri IDE 2 and digidrive as slave on IDE 2. When I boot windows hangs.

I can boot into safe mode and both drives work.

I can disconect one or the other and boot normally and the attached drive will work.

I also disabled boot options with msconfig one by one (ie win.ini, then re-enabled and disabled sys.ini, etc...) in safe mode then tried to reboot normally, no joy.

TIA
Bryan

http://www.addonics.com/products/flash_memory_reader/ide_digidrive.asp drivers section has a driver for xp/2k with a fix for win2k. It probably will also fix the hang issue with XP.
