Hi, I'm not sure if i'm in the right place but here goes anyway.

A friend of mine crashed his comp a couple months ago and is finally getting it back up and running. He is trying to get back connected to the internet but whenever he tries to run his install disk he is getting an error that goes something like this:

tcp/ip May not be working properly, check your isp connection.

Any clues?

Thanks!
Becky

We need some more info.
Type of computer, operating system.
Windows 95 for instance DOESN'T install the Microsoft tcp/ip protocol by default...it has to be added as part of the install.
Post some more info if you're still having trouble

Here's something to try as long as your running windows 95. Go to your start menu, setting, control panel. Then go to network. From there you need to check and see if there is a line there that says tcp/ip in front of it. If not then click on the add button and select protocal. Then on the next screen on the left half select microsoft. Then something new should pop up on the right and you should see tcp/ip. Just select that and add it. You may need your windows 95 disk. Hope this helps
