I have a compaq presario 700 laptop and it was shutting itself down after about 20-30mins if i wasnt using it, even if there where programs running.I checked and changed all the power setting in xp so as they were set to "never",but the problem persisted.I decided to clear the hard drive so ran fdisk and deleted the partitions, hoping this would stop the problem once the OS was reinstalled. However now when i try to install the OS the computer shuts down before the installation is complete making the computer unusable.I have ran virus scans and surface scans on the hard disk and they all come up clear. If anyone has any idea at all on how to fix it i woukd be greatful.
