I'm starting to think this is impossible, techs can't help, neither can friendly hackers. What I want to do is swap files, sfc_os.dll and the modified sfc_os1.dll file I made. (it's the file that enables Windows File Protection) I do have a problem though, I need to swap the file when the OS ISN'T RUNNING! I'm running XP Pro. The 98 startup disk can not access the NTFS partition. XP startup disks don't help at all. Everyone I know that swapped it sucessfully was running Linux, or something similar as a second OS. Ideas, anyone? |

How about an NTFS reader for DOS http://download.com.com/3000-2094-10126096.html try opening the file with a DOS EDITOR and merge the new file into the old file and save it. It might work. |
