Please help with a sound problem I am having... I have recently signed up with my telephone company and installed an internet call ID program for my computer. The problem I have is that this program is supposed to notify me with sound when a call comes in, I do get a popup screen with name and number, but no sound. The program itself dose not have any settings, it uses the windows default sound. I've spoken to tech support, but they say there seems to be no problem with the program itself. The problem may be with my default sound. It's possible that I may have deleted the default option in control panel/sounds. is there some way to restore this option, maybe throught the registry or is there a way to test and see if my
default sound is working properly. This way I know it's a problem with my caller ID
program.
Thanks

I think this is what they're talking about. Go to your start menu, bring up settings, and open your control panel. In there should be a sound icon. Open that up and look at the list in there. One of them should be default sound. See if there is a little yellow speaker beside it. If not then no sound is asigned. just click on it and then use the menu below to asign a sound. Hope this helps.

I am having problems with sound on my PC. I have installed the drivers for the sound card and a voice fax modem. I can get wave sound, and I can use my micro phone. But I can get sound from the CD or via the internet such as from radio stations. I have obvious missed something. Do you have any ideas?
