Hi
I installed a CR-RW drive on my PC yesterday. As it is a DELL system, having a nice moulded case and no vacant drive bays (cheers guys) I simply removed my old CD-Rom drive and fitted the new drive using the same cables.
My new drive works fine, but now I can get no sound through Windows XP. Play a CD through the software that came with my Creative Soundcard and it plays fine (so I assume I haven't accidentally disconnected the soundcard), try to play it with the Windows media player and no sound can be heard. System sounds are also missing, including on Startup and Exit.
Anyone able to help?

Cheers

Lee
