alright im running off from windows xp and i have icq and aim and when i am on them they both just lose their connections but when i have other internet based programs like winmx then are still connected. Can somebody please help. |

I don't use either program but since WinMX and whatever P2P you are using uses all your bandwidth ICQ and AIM can't stay connected. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.buchanan/index.html?limiting.html explains how to limit WinMx bandwidth. |

yeah i already had that limited before, but like when i restart my computer without winmx or emule it still does the same thing. and on my other hard drive that i have xp installed in a booted from that one and it work perfectly |

Hmm, so your other hard drive has what O.S. running when ICQ and AIM disconnect? I thought the problem was when you were running in XP. |

no, its with xp too. i think i solved the problem tho. i just started uninstalling programs i didnt use anymore and then reinstalled aim and icq and theyre working for now. could have been a virus or something |
