I was deleting (or trying to) something and I accidentally deleted the "system.ini" that I found which was dated on the same day I was deleting this certain file. There were 3 "system.ini" files altogether, so I thought that deleting the one I had obviously created when installing the program which I now wanted to delete would be okay. But is wasn't!! Now, when I turn on my computer, it says there is a SYSTEM.INI error and that I need to run windows setup again to install the file. But then, the computer shuts off. I even have the windows 95 CD in the computer, but it doesn't recognize it. What do I do now??? |

can you get into safe mode? if you can, see if the you can remember the exact, or very close to, time you deleted the file. go to the recycle bin, then drag and drop that system.ini file to the windows folder. when asked to overwrite, say "yes". then reboot. you should be ok. if not, we'll do this a different way. i hope you haven't deleted everything in the recycle bin. you can't undo that one. |
