My old Pentium 200 based computer system has had the C and D drive running under MS-DOS Compatibility Mode for a while now and I've tried many things to try to correct it. I am running Windows 98 first edition. I ran a bootlog and apparantly the ESDI_506.pdr file is not loading during start up. I was wondering if I am not doing something right because I very much want to get it running normally again. |

do you have any dos (real mode) drivers loaded? if so, try and get some windows drivers (virtual device drivers). |

Is your CD-ROM working correctly? If not, you may have a boot-sector virus which will cause the same symptoms. Otherwise, you may want to find updated drivers for your Hard drive controller and reinstall them. |
