the drivers and/or the utilities for them probably aren't installed properly. if you have any old drivers, remove them manually, first. first, reset the video card to standard pci, then, reboot, then uninstall the drivers/program associated with them. reboot. if you know which drivers you have, either consult the web site for the manufacturer on how to remove them, or do a search on your hard drive. when you find which ones they are, if they're still on you drive, delete them and you may have to delete references to them in the registry. reboot. then reinstall your drivers that you wish to use. also, double check your hardware settings such as the pci, ide channels enabled, etc. these will effect your hardware. when you get them right, you may have to play around with the settings or reinstall the drivers a couple of times after "tweaking" the settings just to lock them down. it may be a little frustrating, and time consuming, but after you get done, you should be ok. just as a side note, go to one of the forums such as: www.reactorcritcal.com that deal with video. you'll get any help you need there. or the newsgroups, too. |
