Using NT, 2000, or WIN98, is it possible to fax out using a dsl line and not a modem?

Whenever I try to set it up, it always looks for a modem line.

Thanks,
Jerold

Why not use a third party faxing solution like JFAX (found at: http://www.j2.com/index.html)?

In answer to your question, no it should not be possible. Fax machines are just like phone systems that it needs to detect a dial-tone before proceeding and DSL / Cable Modems don't provide that service.

J2 looks to be a pay service. I am thinking about somethhing like winfax software or OUTLOOK 2000.
