I have just bought MYOB ReatilManager which I use in my shop. I have another computer at home only 20 Feet from the shop and I want to connect both computers so I can access and work on my accounts from home. How can I connect the computers over this 20 Ft distance. Both have USB ports can I use these. Also do I need an extra software licence for this operation?. Hope someone can help. Rob Walkeer. |

PC Anywhere by Symantic, 2 USB Lan Adapters (RJ45 type) and a cross over cable of sufficient length will get you up and running. PC Anywhere will be slow compared to actually being at the source computer, but you totally avoid needing a 2nd license. Also.. you will not be able to use PC Anywhere while someone else uses the source computer. |

you can use a special usb cable. about $90 from www.ltp.com. then enable file and print sharing between the 2 computers, direct cable connection, it's called. or, get network cards in both and hook them up, one, as a server. you can also use direct cable with a parallel port cable. there are other ways, but these are a few. and inexpensive. check them out, see which one fits your needs. |
