hi i'm doing a fresh install of win95b.i've done fdisk,no LBA(fat 16).formated c: /s. after install i notice a folder named Wininst0.400. there's nothing in it(this time), i can't remove it in windows or dos . i've done everything from scatch several times trying install different ways, and everytime the folder is there, with 1 or more files named with odd characters. i've never had this happen. what's it about.is there some kind of error occuring during install? i'm there watching the screen and haven't seen any notices of errors having happened. thanks |

hi i found this out If you run Setup from MS-DOS, Setup installs the necessary components for mini-Windows. Setup stores these files in a temporary directory it creates called WININST0.400. running scandisk checking files and folders to automatically fix errors did the trick. i was then able to delete it. |
