I've changed the motherboard, hard drive, processor & video card and still can't install Windows98. The harddrive has been formatted & partioned. I start with the boot disc and the 98 CD. As I install the software I keep getting several errors. Some fatal others illegal messages. The Bios are set to "normal". The original PC had Windows95. Is there someone out there that I can e-mail to try to solve this. I've been working on this on and off for a month and I'm at my witts end.

Thanks,Jim. pctech.com is under construction. We're hoping that someone once had the same problem. Not being an expert, we are trying to learn as we struggle along. Maybe there's a motherboard change that has to be made, maybe something has to be updated, perhaps a bad installation disc, bad or wrong boot disc, improper drivers etc. It sounds like a simple fix, BUT we don't know what to try. After trying to do the installation half a dozen times, we realize that something else is preventing the installation. So again is there someone or some site out there that we can e-mail or look at to try to trouble shoot the PC? Is the someone who builds PC who might want to take the time to help? Thanks in advance.

can anyone tell me whats wrong and how to fix this problem....when i try to run scandisk.exe /all ...... i get this message:

There is not enough free conventional memory to check a drive.

You may need to remark (REM) some device drivers from your CONFIG.SYS file. Or, in your CONFIG.SYS, you may need to load the EMM386.EXE driver to load your other device drivers into Upper memory Blocks using DEVICEHIGH= statments.

How do i do that ??????

anyone PLEASE help.....thank you all
