When I start my computer I get this annoying Intel advertisment while my cpu does it's thing before starting windows. How do I remove this so I can see numbers being crunched and what my processor is doing on startup. |

you can edit the msdos.sys file in the root dir. do it in dos, and on the properties, uncheck read only and hidden, first, then you can edit it. i'll give you an example. this is a win 98 one i have. under the [Options], make sure this is under it: BootMulti=1 BootMenu=1 BootMenuDelay=13; this is how many seconds i have til it actually boots, gives me a chance to go to dos, if i want. and at the end, down at the bottom, you'll see another 2 choices, or put them in: Logo=0 Bootmenu=1 (this may or may not be necessary) however, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE> REAL IMPORTANT> you may not be able to boot at all if the rest is changed, then, reboot, and change the properties back to hidden, and read only. see if that works, or else not, i got something else, too. just have to look it up. |
