Added a new Hard Drive - moved the CD-rom to a new drive (e.g was e drive now f drive) When I want to start a dos game the computer does not see the re-positioned drive. What can be done so that I can use the CD-Rom in Dos. I have a IBM 300GL. |

hi are you trying to use your game in msdos mode or a dos session in windows? in msdos mode you need to load the drivers via autoexec.bat and config.sys look for mention of mscdex in autoexec.bat look for the /L switch see if it says /L:E if it does try changing it to /L:F or maybe a line similar to MSCDEX.EXE /E:MSCD000 change /E to /F check out config.sys too for similar device=oakcdrom.sys /E:MSCD000 change /E to /F maybe this will help but i don't think you want to load things this way in windows windows wants protected mode drivers and so you really don't need entries in your autoexec.bat or config.sys for cd drive support in windows but you can make a startup floppy with these files configured specially for cd support in dos and boot from this floppy tried to answer sooner but all kinds of interuptions unbelievable |
