I just gat a new laptop and I have been reinstalling the OS (WIN98). I have reformatted the HD prior to each install whenever I can't get a proper configuration (modem card, sound card). I have reformatted 7 times in two days. Will too many formats do any damage to the HD?

No, It won't. You can fix the problems when something doesn't load the drivers right. You don't have to re-format! If you need instructions, e-mail me.

I formated my hard drive and did not copy out the monitor driver, now my monitor doesn't display properly.
What can i do to solve this problem.
I really want to see my monitor display as it should.
Thanks.
