Was wondering if anyone has done any research into the Vtech Platinum machines with an Award BIOS v4.50 and 702704D motherboards. Is there anyway to update these machines to get them to rool over to 2000. Have tried a few tests, and the date went to 2094. Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

My information says that VTech stuff is/was made (or the company was bought) by PCPartner. Their website doesn't list your board in the bios upgrade area, but they do have a Y2K compliance page at: http://www.pcpartner.com.hk/faq/y2k.htm If all else fails, Norton 2000 might work, but it's bios fix sits resident in conventional memory, and I'm not sure that these fixes will work on every machine and with every piece of software out there. The general rule of thumb seems to be that bioses manufactured after November 1996 are, or are upgradeable to be, Y2K ready. |
