have a MICRON Trek2 Laptop and I was reading the user guide. It said that I should totally drain the battery till it shuts itself off and recharge it to keep the battery at its best. I did it and now whenever I shut down the computer, I no longer get the "IT IS NOW SAFE TO TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER" message and it doesn't shut itself down (there is still power with a black screen). I must press the power button for about 5seconds to shut the power. I removed the battery and reinstalled it, and all of my power settings don't tell me much regarding shutdown vs. standby/sleep. PLEASE HELP!? |

HI If you're using Win98, try disabling the fast shutdown feature: Press: "Start" - "Run" Type: "msconfig" and hit enter. Look for the "Advanced" button to disable fast shutdown. See if it helps... Yizhar |
