I recently built a pc100systemboard m598 350 w/128ram, onboard sis530video/64bit 3d agp graphics accelerator & on board 3d sound pro. On initial startup had video and sound issues, now resolved. But subsequently when connected to internet experience lockups/crashes when sounds are played whether on a site, receiving mail, or aolim. Can also experience lockup/crash with sound not enabled although not nearly as frequently. Device manager says no conflicts in any devices. System does not lock up/freeze with just running w95 and various programs through there. I'm stuck and need any help I can get figuring this out. Have all sounds turned off on computer, and not going to internet sites that play music, and so far system has not locked/crashed for over 4 hours. Desperate, Please help, ASAP

Barry is absolutely right. Also you will need to run the patch every time you re-install windows.
Also get OSr-2 and install USB supplement for the agp. Or better yet install Win98.

Have you downloaded the AMD patch for Win95?
This fixes a number of problems.
You'll be able to find information about it on the AMD web site.

i had this same problem because of my sound card (cheap) not being directx compatible. try checking your hardware to see if any of it is a result of this. this would seem a software problem, but as you can see, it can be hardware. the other thing i would suggest, is check your memory. it may or may not be the right stick(s) to work with your board. if you can borrow some sticks, do it and see if this helps. if not, you may be stuck unless you go out and buy some more. try to get a business to sell you some with a guarantee that it's going to work. that way, if it doesn't, you can take it back for an exchange. they will have an incentive to get the right one so they don't have to give the money back and you will be happy, too. it can cause this also. after that, then it's software. may be a time to try to track down that.

hope this helps.
