My machine is an old DEC LPV+ 466d2. If I take out the 2 4mb chips and replace them with 2 8mb chips it doesnt count up at all, just a series of post beeps. Is there a chance there may be a jumper setting for this?I have also tried adding 2 more 4mb chips that match the 4mb chips that are in now and i get an error message and must run setup. I go into setup and check ext mem size and only shows 8mb insted of 16 Any suggestions would be helpful. |

I don't think your board will take 8M modules. See the link below. Not sure why all 4 of the 4M won't show up. There very well could be a jumper, or even a bad module. Try switching them around. I'd be searching the internet for info on your system. Hope this helps. Memory Upgrade |
