I have a ThinkPad A-31, was watchin a movie through s-vid cable and it hard locked. I powered it off and it will not boot, not even to the bios screen. When attached to a monitor, the monitor makes a static sound as if almost getting a signal and shutting down. I cannot find a flash rom and am out of warranty. Any Suggestions? |

thanks, one thing I've noticed, the HD will not spin up but the CD rom drive sounds like it is spinning up, the power supply could still be the issue ? |

Lots of years in IBM Thinkpads suggests that: 1st: Try to see BIOS config status! 2nd: In BIOS see VGA properties! 3rd: With a Win98se Boot disk make ( if he arrives there) a scandisk! 4th: Probably you generated a system mismatch by low fixed memory or something around that! 5ft: Go to an IBM expert! 6th: IBM is the most solid and reliable notebook you will ever find (!) so, if there´s a conflict, had better avoiding expensiviest further damages, to find an IBM Thinkpad expert near you! 7th: For all you say, im deeply convicted is only a system conflict! Good Luck! Nuno |
