Hello everybody,

last night I shut down my girlfriend's Dell Dimension desktop normally, but today it won't start. I checked the cables, tried a different cable, everything is ok there. However, I can see a few PCI cards flickering from behind the box. Then it shouldn't be that the motherboard has burned up right?

I'm guessing that the power button got disconnected or something... Since when I press it NOTHING happens. However that doesn't quite make sense, as the box is fairly secure and shouldn't have moved...

Any help appreciated,
Kostis

check your onboard diagnostic leds at the back of your pc. they will tell you where the problem might be. I 've seen this problem before, you may have to reseat the ram modules.see your users guide for diagnostic codes. If you don't have the user guide one can be downloaded from Dell.com if you have access to another computer.
