hi hope you can help!!!
My computer overheats even when sitting at idle, but crashes as soon as i play a game on it. The computer will stay on the internet but runs very hot at 75'oc. I have cleaned the fans and dust from the computer but not sure what else to try!My computer has run well for along time. The only thing that i have done recently is put on a virtual drive which i haven't had any problems with.
I have a GEFORCE Ti4400 and 1 meg of memory. Motherboard is a soltek SL-75DRV5.
Thanks for any help in advance!
I downloaded Hardware Monitor Settings and this is the copied report.

It would appear as tho you need to move more hot air out of the case, 52 degrees c is pretty high for a case temp.
You may also want to reseat your HS/fan and apply fresh heatsink compound, especially if you are using stock cooling as the TIM/paste does dry out and crack causing poor contact between cpu and heatsink.

hello again, thanks for help so far, i will apply fresh heatsink compound as soon as i get into town.
My computer does have two fans on the mother board and a exhaust fan sucking the air directly above the heatsink and fan. could it have anything to do with voltage? I ask this because on the report i got from Hardware sensors monitor it highlights the core=+1.76v and aux=+2.45v and cpu2 in Red.
Thanks again for your time Pete Rus

Hi anyone,
still really need someone to help!
Have applied new heatsink compound to heat sink, this seems to have reduce the temperature by 5,oc but still running at 71,oc. is there anyway of increasing the speed of the fans on the motherboard.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks Pete Rus

Hi there Pete Rus. I have the same problem with XP200+. It crashes when i played games and other stuff. Maybe the problem is the CPU fan. It runs about 2200-2500RPM. I suggest you to change it with better fan. Over 5000-6000 is better for AMD. I tried that and it works. And dont forget to buy low noise fan:-)) Otherway you'll get a little chesna's engine:PP
