Hi, I am having a problem with my audio hardware. I have a Compaq Presario running Windows 98. I have recently been trying to rid my computer of the actulice virus. I believe I accomplished that and also got rid of my audio hardware. I can play songs off of Morpheus, however when I try to play a file off of Quick Time Player I get a message reading 'You may have problems playing a soundtrack because there is no audio hardware available on your computer.' I disabled some start up items while trying to get rid of the actulice virus. I'm not sure if that is the problem. If anyone could help me I would extremely appreciate it! Thank you so much! |

If your audio hardware is detected list the devices in device manager. Quicktime player uses different codecs so try reinstalling it. Perhaps getting rid of the virus also got rid of the codec files needed for Q-time to render audio properly. |
