I have given an old PC to my kids, wich I have had for years. They are wanting to play some games and other stuff on it, but it could do with an upgrade. Can anyone give any advice on how far I can upgrade, in the way of CPU and a 3Dgraphics card, as it has taken me ages to identify the MB. This system is a self build, by someone else. The MB is a Tomato TX98, with a SIS5598 chipset. It has an On chip 64-bit GUI graphics accelerator. I have upgraded the RAM to 384mb. Any advice would be helpful. I am not a wiz on the Tech side PCs But I understand the basics, So please keep it as simple as you can with your replies. If you require any further info, just ask. TIA Andy |

most games now require a 733 megahertz pentium 3, or a 1.0 to 1.5 gigahertz pentium 3 or 4 (or amd equivalent), with a 32 or 64 megabyte video card, and 128 - 256 megabytes of ram. Those are very bare minimum specs to get better gaming you would want at least a 2 gigahertz pentium 4, a 128 megabyte video card, and 512 megabytes of ram. If that doesnt sound right you can always check the system requirements for a game (they should be posted on the side or bottom of the game box). Hope that was helpful |
