Hello - P4 @ 2.8G, 800FSB, 1MB Cache on a 487 - CPU complete with cooler. My question: Is a CPU cooler to blow air down and on, or out and off the cooler fins? Thanks - JJ |

How do I get a cpu fan for a Dell Deimension 8200. The dell home page does not seem to have a spare parts dept that is easy to reach. |

ASUS MOBO/ AMD CPU. My fathers CPU was over heating. Purchased a better fan and heat sink. Fan is larger than original therefore RPM's are slower. The sensor shuts down computer because of slower RPM's.Any other option besides disabling the sensor? Can you change the RPM setting in the BIOS? |

There is a bios update that addresses an issue with Q-fan it may be worth a look. 1. Fix system shows hardware monitor error sometimes if Q-Fan enabled it's bios release 1004 for A7V600. |

Got the problem solved, the heat sink was not attatched completely or corectly. The temp is in a much more reasonable range. Thanks. |

I recently installed 120mm Thermaltake fan on my CPU via a plastic adapter duct (80mm X 120mm). My ASUS A8V Deluxe MOBO utilizes the "cool and quiet" program for controlling CPU fan speed. The Thermaltake fan could be temp controlled via a thermocouple under the CPU chip, or full speed constantly, or speed controller, when I plugged the speed controller lead into the MOBO everything is fine until I reboot. I get "CPU fan error. Press F1 to continue". When I press F1 the boot up continues and all is fine, but I get the CPU fan error message every time. How can I stop this or side step the error message without having to press F1 each time I boot? Thanks for any info. JB |

Large fans such as your 120mm may spin to slow for the mainboard fan sensor. Asus may have a Bios update for your board to *fix* the issue. |
