My computer has the following components:- Asus P4P800 Deluxe MB Endec 480W PSU Weston Digital 120 gig HD with SATA connection 2 X 250mb Corsair DDR memory Pentium 4 CPU 2.8ghz 800 FSB Thermaltake heatpipe CPU cooler with fan GeForce FX5900 video card Lg CD drive The motherboard will not post nor do the fans run. The system Power and the Hard Disk activity LEDs do not light. However, the motherboard power light is on. I have used a digital multi-meter to check the operation of the start button on the front of the case and the circuit is completed when the button is pressed. I have also checked all the output voltages of the PSU and they are reading correctly. I have the small square power supply lead going to the CPU. I have swapped the PSU with a known working unit to no avail. I have tried a different video card to no avail. I've checked for squashed solder joints near the CPU but everything appears OK. Currently I have the motherboard sitting on a cardboard box outside of the case with only the memory, video card, monitor, keyboard and mouse, and power connected. Any suggestions on how to diagnose the problem will be appreciated. Thanks |
