I have an EP-MVP3C mother board and a amd K62 processor. I have a serial mouse that works fine, but I also have a PS/2 memorex optical mouse that I would rather use instead. I am running Windows 98SE. I went and got a card for a PS/2 connection (my pc didnt have one to begin with) but when I tried to install it found out the connectors on the card werent compatible with the mother boards connectors. I then got a PS/2 to serial adapter but the computer wont recognize the mouse for some reason. If I install the driver that comes with the mouse and restart my pc it doesnt detect a mouse at all, even though i can see it gets power to the mouse then cuts it just before windows loads up. The driver that comes with the mouse is for a PS/2 connector so I figure that is the problem since I couldnt hook the PS/2 card up to the mother board. Is there a different driver I might be able to use, or some other way to get this working, or am I stuck using the old wheeless mouse? |

Get a USB riser card (the board supports USB) and/or USB PCI card and a USB to PS2 adaptor, that should take care of the problem. |
