Hey, I use an Abit IC-7 Motherboard, and ever since yesterday, the fan on it has been making an annoying, loud whirling noise. Not the one on the CPU, but the one actually on the motherboard itself.

Opening up my PC, it seems like the fan is spinning in an irregular fashion.

Anybody know what's wrong and how I can fix it? Plus, will its irregular spinning affect my computer (like cause it to heat quicker than usual, etc.,)

THanks in advance.

The chipset fan should be replaced, sounds like the bearings are going on it.
A replacement chipset heatsink fan combo should do the trick.
